Investopedia is one of the most popular and unique investing sites on the internet. We attract more than 3.5 million visitors per month to our educational content and tools. Since our launch in 1999, the site has been featured in The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, Forbes and CNBC, among others. Investopedia is a Forbes Media Company.

We're always on the lookout for writers - both amateur and professional - from all nations who seek to expand their skills and share their know-how with others.
What We Are Looking For
Our content is guided by two main principles:
1) It examines an area of investing or finance with an educational focus.
2) The lessons are timeless and as borderless as possible.

In other words, we aren't looking for hot stock tips or a recap of what the market did last week. It does mean that we'll publish nearly any financial topic where there is enough interest. We are especially keen on material in the following areas:
  • Personal Finance (Mortgages, loans, credit cards, saving, budgeting, etc.)
  • Insurance
  • Retirement Plans (Canada and U.K.)
  • Alternative Investments (Gold, Real Estate, etc.)
  • Options & Futures
  • Active Trading
  • Income Taxes (U.S. and Canada)
  • Fixed Income Securities
For more specifics on our content production process, please see our Writers Guidelines.
Other Details
  • Pay rates vary based on subject difficulty and the writer's qualifications. We are open to barter deals, exchanging advertising for content.
  • An ongoing contract is preferable, although we will also accept one-time submissions.
  • We require the worldwide rights as part of any writing deal.
