FXstreet.com (Barcelona) - The EURUSD simply jumped past the 1.3200 mark at 14:00 GMT, peaking at 1.3227 session high. The market is now back at trading above Friday's close, 1.3217.

The market is trading in very thin volumes as the world celebrates the New Year. The remaining investors await news from the US Senate that will be meeting at 16:00 GMT for a last attempt at reaching a deal. Earlier in the day, HSBC revised its December China PMI from 50.9 to 51.5, a 19-month high.

"Resistance at 1.3300 continues to suppress any bullish momentum as the EURUSD pair consolidates", wrote Fxstreet.com independent analyst Richard Lee, pointing to initial support at 1.3165, followed by 1.3119.
