Almost immediately after the voting closes, local media are expected to report their estimates based on exit polls and their analysis. Thus, we should know some rough results at 8:00pm on Sunday. Uncertainties will remain, but we are likely to know which will be the first party unless the difference between the two parties is too small. The exact result (for example, whether the winning party succeeded in gainingmore than 320 seats) will take longer to establish, but we are likely to know the result with high confidence by Monday morning in Tokyo."
