FXstreet.com (New York) - The US stock market experienced a mixed opening Thursday, showing checkered signals thus far as Syria still looms and investors digest GDP data.

Beginning with the indices and composites, today the NASDAQ rose +0.07% as it settles in region of 3595.72, up +2.36 points in these moments. In addition, the S&P 500 is trading in negative territory, operating at 1633.15, descending -1.96 points or -0.12% at the time of writing. Finally, the Dow Jones has moved lower at the opening, trading in the zone of 14812.92, presently -0.08% after a movement of -11.59 points.

Sectors are all lower at the opening, however the Telecoms sector has distinguished itself as the lone winner thus far, rising +2.00%. Moreover, the price of gold has settled at $1406.50 per oz., while silver is now negotiating a spot price of $24.02 per oz. Thursday.

In terms of FX, the EUR/USD is now trading at 1.3238 (-0.74%), the USD/JPY has settled at 98.29 (+0.68%), the GBP/USD at 1.5504 (-0.18%), and the USD/CHF at 0.9299 (+0.83%).
