It was a crisp, late summer morning sixteen years ago in New York City, Washington D.C. and Somerset County, P.A., when our country was changed forever by the terrorist attacks on our nation. While the passing of time soothes those horrible memories to a degree, we will never forget the thousands of people we lost, the courage of those who rushed in to help, and the fortitude of a people that refused to be defeated by the evils of terrorism.

In New York, those attacks were centered on our financial center and the many good people who worked in that industry. At Investopedia we focus on finance, investing and education every day; on days like today we commemorate our highest goals and our better selves.

We honor those who lost their lives sixteen years ago and we continue to extend our love and support to those who lost dear family members and friends.
