JPY: Exceptional strength - HSBC

By FXstreet.com | Updated August 15, 2014 AAA

FXStreet (Łódź) - The HSBC team of analysts suggest, against the general consensus, that the Yen is going nowhere against the USD.

Key quotes

"The Yen is the notable exception to our expectation of USD strength in the coming quarters."

"Our view is not born of stubbornness. We simply do not believe the grounds on which the consensus is bearish Yen."

"We do not expect the BoJ to add to its stimulus until well into 2015, and in any event engineering Yen weakness through the printing press is already less politically palatable."
