Spurstone Executive Wealth Solutions

Job Title:

Partner

Biography:

Spurstone’s Co-Founder and strategic architect, Timothy Golas, has dedicated his talents to the financial services industry since 2005. Prior to founding Spurstone, Tim worked as a private client advisor with UBS Financial, strategizing with senior executives and focused on equity based compensation management at Fortune 500 companies.

While at UBS, Tim worked on a Barron's Top 100 Team, where he specialized in advising corporate executives. His experience also includes consulting with families at all corporate levels, providing skills to better implement efficient strategies to build and preserve individual wealth with concentrated positions, stock based compensation, and deferred compensation.

Integral to the Spurstone team, Tim focuses on stock compensation planning, asset management, estate planning, and retirement planning, among others. His other areas of expertise include creating strategies to develop retirement planning, charitable giving, and legacy planning.

Managing the latest technology for enhanced efficiency, Tim expertly implements strategies for analytics and transparency, while prioritizing a warm, personal approach with his clients.  Boasting an impressive writing portfolio, Tim has been featured in a variety of publications, including financial giants like The Wall Street Journal, Money Magazine, and Investopedia.

The son of an engineer, Tim jumps at the chance to solve problems creatively, and tackle complex challenges. He prides himself on investing as much time with each client as possible, determined to put forth more effort with each individual than generally expected from the industry.

As the co-founder of Spurstone Executive Wealth Solutions, Tim was able to create a business culture best suited to his clients and his own family. Putting a high premium on time spent with family, Tim celebrates the ability to give family time back to his clients while focusing on spending quality time with his own.

A graduate of Eastern Connecticut State University, Tim earned his BS in Business Finance.  He is a passionate Motocross and off-road racing fan who can often be found with friends riding his dirt bike on scenic trails around his home.  While St. Croix remains his favorite vacation escape, there is nowhere in the world he would rather be than at home with his wife and daughters.

Recognized by his clients as financially savvy and detail-oriented, Tim also considers himself “financially efficient,” a jokester, and Shazam's best competitor. Embracing a lesson learned from mom, Tim takes pride in everything he does, regardless of the size of the task. When it comes to inspirational figures, Tim cites Gary Vaynerchuk for his drive, motivation, and brutal honesty relative to himself and those around him. A self-professed foodie, Tim has an intense affinity for all things chocolate.

The Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation is close to Tim's heart, and he supports the organization's efforts whenever and however he can.
