Pat has been in the financial services business since 1981 and is very knowledgeable in all aspects of qualified retirement and non-qualified deferred compensation plans. She joined Meld Financial in 1997 where she is directly responsible for the management of institutional client relationships and oversees Meld University’s School of Social Security & Medicare. Her knowledge in retirement planning made Pat acutely aware of the benefits of optimizing Social Security benefits and the importance of managing health care expenses in retirement. She shares her passion for educating baby boomers, as well as attorneys and CPA’s who also advise pre-retirees, to help them make more informed decisions about when and how to apply for their Social Security and Medicare benefits. She is a seasoned speaker on Social Security and Medicare with published articles in Investopedia, Yahoo Finance, Nasdaq and Financial Planning Magazine.
Prior to Meld Financial, Pat was the Vice President & Business Development Officer at AmSouth Bank, the Vice President & Business Development Officer at SouthTrust Bank, and the New Business Customer Support and Training Manager at SunGard. She earned her Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from Western New England University. She holds her Certified Financial Planner™ certification, obtained in 2002.
Pat is a Board Member and President of the Alabama Plan Sponsor Council as well as a member of the Financial Planning Association. She enjoys spending her time with her husband, Peter Brown, at their lake house and her two daughters, their husbands and six grand children.
