How to Get the Bonus 
  1. Open a new account. You’ll get started by indicating whether you’re an existing Ally Bank customer or a new customer. 
  2. Provide your personal details. The application will ask for your name, birth date, Social Security or Tax Identification number, and a U.S. residential street address. You’ll also provide a driver’s license or other identification. 
  3. Lock in your rate. You can choose how much to deposit into your CD and will lock in the Ally Bank promotional CD rate of 4.60% APY for the next 13 months for new customers. 
Bonus Restrictions and Account Fees

Ally Bank doesn’t charge maintenance fees on its CDs, nor does it require a minimum deposit. With its 13-month Select CD, you could lock in a 4.60% APY throughout your CD term. Interest is compounded daily. 

When your CD matures, it will automatically renew into a 12-month high-yield CD. At this time, Ally Bank’s 12-month High-Yield CD has an APY of 4.50%. 

Note that you will incur a penalty if you withdraw your savings before the 13 months is up on your Select CD. Ally Bank charges a penalty equal to 60 days of interest earned on CDs with terms of 24 months or less. The only exception is Ally’s No Penalty CD, which has a term of 11 months and an APY of 4.75%.
