The acquisition gives students access to more campus locations, more student and career resources, licensing information, and more professional classes including courses on insurance, construction, and mortgages. Many classes, including pre-licensing classes, are taught in English and Spanish. The school puts great emphasis on quality instruction and teaching students not just what they need to know to pass the exam but also what will help them succeed in the real estate industry.
The main campus is in Orlando, and there are eight campus locations throughout Florida including locations in Boca Raton, North Miami Beach, and West Palm Beach. Some locations offer fingerprinting services onsite, which you will need before submitting your application to be a real estate agent. All About Real Estate Agents and What They Do
Available Courses
Climer School of Real Estate offers pre-licensing real estate agent and broker courses and exam prep courses in various formats. It also offers continuing education classes for real estate agents, brokers, and real estate instructors. Additional courses that are offered through Gold Coast Schools include appraisal, mortgage, construction, insurance, and community association manager (CAM) classes.
Florida real estate is quite different from real estate in other states. Rental prices fluctuate with the market and there are many short-term rentals because the state is a popular tourist destination. It’s helpful for agents to learn about condo bylaws and rental restrictions in buildings.
Salesperson Pre-Licensing
Climer School of Real Estate no longer offers a salesperson pre-licensing course. It offers a sales associate agent course which requires you to have completed a 63-hour FREC-approved pre-licensing course prior to taking the agent course offered through the school.
Exam Prep
Climer School of Real Estate offers exam prep courses in a variety of formats. You can purchase digital flashcards for $39.99, a state exam simulator and practice questions for $69.99 to take at your own pace or an online exam prep package for $89.99. The package contains practice questions, digital flashcards, and a state exam simulator.
If you prefer instructor-led exam prep classes, those are an option too. These cram courses are taught in English and Spanish over the course of a weekend and you can come to a campus or take it live online. Classes cost $199 but are free for all Climer and Gold Coast pre-licensing students who purchased non-basic packages. It’s an intense review of all course material, Florida real estate laws, math questions, and real estate terms. It also includes a question-and-answer workbook to summarize and track your exam knowledge.
Continuing Education
Climer School of Real Estate offers continuing education classes for real estate agents and brokers and continuing education classes for real estate instructors, as well. Self-paced continuing education classes are $22.95. Instructor-led livestream and in-person courses are $99. All classes include the required 14 hours of educational material, and once you finish, the hours will be reported directly to the state so you can easily renew your license. Topics include ethics, agency, property management, commercial real estate, and more.
Instructor courses are available in person and online and cost $99. They include topics such as teaching to multiple generations and understanding the construction of state exams. These courses are designed to better prepare instructors to teach relevant topics and to be able to assist various demographics of students.
Florida real estate licenses need to be renewed every two years. Prior to each license renewal, 14 hours of continuing education must be completed.
Other Courses
In addition to the standard pre-licensing, exam prep, and continuing education courses, Climer School of Real Estate also offers appraisal, mortgage, construction, insurance, and community association manager classes. These classes can be taken to further understand a specific field and expand your real estate business. For example, a student may get their real estate license and decide new construction homes interest them and then choose to take classes to learn more about the construction industry.
Classes vary in formats, schedules, and pricing. For instance, mortgage loan originator class packages start at $349 and CAM classes range from $129 to $399.
A CAM is the manager of a condo association or a homeowners association and is often referred to as a property manager. This role will deal with daily operations, vendors, and board members. Most buildings require a CAM license for this position.
Course Format
Climer School of Real Estate offers most of its courses in both English and Spanish. It offers three course formats to choose from. There are self-paced online classes, live instructor-led online classes, and classes taught by instructors in a classroom. You can choose which class format best suits your learning style and lifestyle. Pre-licensing courses include things like diagrams, colorful and engaging content, and technical support. Online classes are designed to run on tablets, smartphones, and personal computers. Sample state exams are also provided with each pre-licensing course.
Instructors
The instructors at Climer School of Real Estate are all industry professionals, with most instructors having 15 or more years of industry experience plus teaching experience. Instructor bios are on the school’s website so you can read about their highlights before enrolling. Some instructors are appraisers, real estate brokers, and home inspectors. Kaplan is a reputable and well-known education institution that offers some form of real estate classes in all 50 states, but only offers pre-licensing courses in 27 states. It teaches real estate classes online in two formats, livestream and self-paced, but doesn’t have any physical campus locations. It is accredited by IDECC and ARELLO, meaning that the school has met the high standards for online education that both institutions have. Final Verdict
Climer School of Real Estate is a viable option if you’re interested in becoming a real estate agent or broker and want to work in the state of Florida. Some of the school’s positive attributes include its association with Gold Coast Schools, positive overall reviews, easy-to-use website with live chat option, and numerous courses and formats to choose from including online and in-class options.
However, Gold Coast Schools isn’t certified by IDECC or ARELLO, which means that the school didn’t meet either of the issuing accreditation companys' high educational standards. It also only offers courses in one state and doesn’t have a mobile app. Additionally, its pre-licensing courses are priced higher than some of its competitors. These are all factors to consider when deciding if Climer School of Real Estate is the right choice for you.
