Jamie Saettele has more than 14 years of experience in analyzing and trading on the foreign exchange (FX). Jamie is the co-founder of SB Trade Desk, a subscription analysis and trading service with commentary on foreign exchange, commodities, and equity indices. He was a senior currency strategist and technical currency strategist at DailyFX.com for more than 10 years. Jamie wrote daily commentary on trading the currency market. He also taught online and in-person seminars on technical analysis and trading strategies. His work included trade ideas for the major currency crosses and trading strategies for commodities like metals and crude oil. Jamie worked as a sales associate at FXCM–Global Brokerage, a retail foreign exchange, and as a consultant at securities brokerage firm Huntleigh Securities Corporation.

Jamie began writing for Investopedia in 2018, where he writes about trading strategies, technical indicators, and alternative investing. You will find his work published in Futures Magazine, SFO Magazine, and Technical Analysis of Stocks and Commodities magazine. He authored Sentiment in the Forex Market (Wiley, 2008), which guides investors on the use of a top-down, sentiment-based, approach to investing in the forex market. Seen as an expert in the forex, Jamie now specializes in swing trades.

Jamie earned his Bachelor of Science in accounting and business administration at the Bucknell University. He also holds a Chartered Market Technician (CMT) designation.
