James Vitalone has been working in the financial industry for nearly 30 years. He has been the executive vice president of leveraged finance at Tellson Securities since 2018. James was also a managing director at Wedgewood Investment Group and Oberon Securities, a senior energy analyst at Tradition Asiel Securities, a vice president, and senior equity analyst at Evergreen Investments, and a vice president and senior portfolio manager at Wells Fargo Capital Management.
James has worked with high-value clients at Wells Fargo, as a buy- and sell-side securities analyst covering the oil and gas industry at Oberon Securities, and with investing in commercial real estate while at Wedgewood. He has trading and investing experience in commercial real estate, the oil and gas sector, corporate bonds, mortgage-backed securities (MBS), and other securities. James uses his background in oil and gas to write about the industry, covering topics such as accounting principles and futures trading.
James received his bachelor's degree in business administration from Saint Bonaventure University and a Master of Business Administration in accounting from Rochester Institute of Technology. He earned his Juris Doctor from Golden Gate University.
James earned a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation in 2000 and also served as the CFA Institute's U.S. Advocacy Committee chair.
