Experience

Christina "Candy" Schaap (1951–2010) was a long-time price-action trader who traded futures, options, stocks, and bonds. She began investing in the market in 1983 and moved into trading the markets in 2006. Schaap used the Average Directional Index (ADX) as a basis for most of her trading, writing, consulting, and teaching work.

She was the founder of StockMarket.com, a website dedicated to teaching others how to use technical analysis for trading decisions. Schaap was also a mentor through the TraderDoc—Loot Camp platform. This Facebook-based course, which targets young people, teaches financial management skills. She was also a speaker at seminars through TeleChart Platinum, a subscription charting software created by Worden Brothers Inc.

Schaap co-authored two books with her husband, Dr. Charles B. Schaap, ADXcellence: Power Trend Strategies and Invest With Success. Beginning in 2006, Schaap wrote the ADXcellence Trade Letter and also contributed to Investopedia. Her work also appears on Forbes, Yahoo, ForexFactory.com, and many other websites. Schaap passed away after a battle with cancer in 2010, but her writing still appears, when searched, in several places on the Internet.
