Scott Billings is a financial journalist with nearly 40 years experience writing. In addition to his freelance work, he was most recently the associate director, content development for Consumer Reports. Other recent leadership positions include having been managing editor of The Street and senior news editor at CNBC.com.

Scott spent over 20 years at The Wall Street Journal, starting in 1981, and was most recently the broadcast news editor. More recently, he has segued into screenwriting and producing, having earned a Master Screenwriting Certificate from Screenwriting U. Scott is also an author for Hawthorne Writers, where he works as a freelance writer, editor, and content consultant.


Scott earned a Bachelor of Arts in English from the University of Michigan.
