Bruce Powers has worked in the financial sector for over 27 years, as an analyst, trader, consultant, educator, lecturer, and writer. His work in the industry began in 1991, as a research analyst for Libra Investments. Since that time, Bruce has been a private equity trader, consultant, head of research and analysis, vice-president, president, a founding partner, and head of trading systems development with firms in the United Arab Emirates, Dubai, and in the U.S., California.
Bruce is an authority on commodities, technical analysis, forex trading, and cyber currencies. The companies he can list on his resume include the Better Trends Group–Arab Capital Markets Resource Center, Trust Securities DMCC, Wide Vision FZCO, Pattern-to-Profit, LLC., Blue Birch Capital Advisors, and Relentless-13 Capital.
Bruce's over 14 years of writing includes work as a columnist for Wealth Monitor, where he covered commodities, forex, and global markets, and is a weekly columnist for Gulf News. His weekly column, On the Line, covered the technical analysis. He has many television appearances on Dubai One TV–Emirates 24/7 show and on City 7 TV–National Business News show. He began writing for Investopedia in 2017.
Bruce uses his expertise to educates others, doing so for over 10 years. He was a trading educator for the Online Trading Academy he taught basic and advanced electronic trading methods. He has hosted several webinars about forex trading and stock analysis. Bruce is also a lecturer, speaking on market strategy for inclusion of the new asset class, cryptocurrency, and about the global markets.
Bruce earned his Master of Business Administration in finance at the Eller College of Management at the University of Arizona. Bruce is also a Chartered Market Technician (CMT).
