Lawrence (Larry) Sprung is the founder and wealth advisor of Mitlin Financial, Inc., where his goal is to develop deeply rooted partnerships with clients that extend beyond the traditional financial planning strategies. Larry was recognized on the Investopedia 100 list in 2021, and this is his first year recognized as a top-10 industry leader.
Larry has been in the financial planning space for over two decades, consistently breaking down complex financial topics in order to better serve his clients. In addition to working with clients, Larry leads many of the financial education programs at Mitlin Financial. These include an educational blog series that breaks down financial basics called the Mitlin Minute and a podcast, the Mitlin Money Mindset. The latter features guests in the industry, and is all about getting your mind right when it comes to all things money.
Outside of the financial planning space, Larry is very passionate about and involved in raising awareness for mental health. He spent more than 12 years on the National Board of the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP), and currently sits on its financial and investment committees. With his wife, Denise, Larry has raised more than $1.5 million for the organization through the Keith Milano Memorial Fund, which was created at AFSP in memory of his brother-in-law.
Larry has received several industry recognitions, including being named a 2019 finalist for the Invest in Others for Community Service Award. He’s also been included on the Long Island Business News “Top 40 Under 40” list. When he is not working, Larry and his wife are likely spending time with their sons and watching hockey as a family.
